Trials Guide

Guide to membership

Now that you got a trial in our beautiful guild you need to know a few things before getting online to raid. The idea is that you read this entire post before asking any questions. If you do not understand something after reading this, then by all means: ask!

Trial rank
We let trials run our errands and help us get better gear while we laugh at them behind their backs. There will be a topic about you on our special forum where we will discuss your shitty DPS. After roughly three weeks the officers decide whether or not you can stay. You have the same priority to get in raids as any other member, but on some loot raids you may be asked to step out because you can't get any loot anyway.

25 man raiding
Raids start somewhere between 19:00 and 19:30 on sunday through thursday. Friday and Saturday are free, but usually there are 5 and 10man or Arena teams going. To get in the raid, whisper 'inv' to any officer. If we need certain classes or players in the raid, we sometimes kick people out. We try to avoid this as much as possible of course. If you can't raid for a while, post in the "away for a while" thread on the private forum. If you don't tell us about this you got a high chance of getting booted.

Required Reading and watching
There used to be a list of links to guides and such here, but we don't want to recruit you if you didn't read them already. So if you show up for a boss fight and have no idea what the fuck is going on, you better leave the guild right away.

Conduct
  • Do not whine about anything.
  • Do not be offensive, swear or call people names.
  • Be relaxed and try to have fun.
  • Do not take offense too easily.
  • Don't be a quitter.
  • Don't cry because we wipe. We WILL wipe today. Get used to it.
  • If something is troubling you, speak up.
  • If you don't understand something, ask.
  • Don't be greedy (but don't forget the point above).
  • Be online outside raiding hours.

The DKP system
DKP is only used in 25man instances. Trials only get DKP, they can't get any items, unless no one else wants an item. Here's how gaining dkp works: you get 2 DKP per hour for practicing new bosses, 1 per hour for farming. Pay attention to the auctions, because sometimes no member wants the item and you might be able to get it. If you would like an item, it never hurts to bid the minimum amount (1 dkp). When the raid is full you have to do "dkpon". Check the GMOTD to see what officer is doing DKP today (usually Palatje) and whisper 'dkpon note' to him/her. The note should be a short message telling us how to contact you in case a spot opens. For example: "/w nosra dkpon I'll be on my alt named kiko". Remember to always check your DKP the next day to see if it's correct. If it's not, send a PM on the forums to Tattersail stating exactly what DKP you are missing (include the date).

Further notes
  • Upgrade your gear, enchant it and put gems in all slots.
  • Keep updated on guild matters by reading forum.
  • Keep updated on the game by reading news sites, blogs and forums such as EJ.
  • Get on ventrilo in time.
  • Farm potions.
  • Whisper officer if you don't want us to disenchant an item. We've got very quick fingers.
  • Notify officers if you need to be offline for a long period.
  • Ask Tattersail for access to private forum
  • Don't be a retard.
