Guild Rules

Nightwatchers is an alliance guild on Twisting Nether. We want to be the most successful alliance raiding guild on our server without compromising life outside WoW and PvP goals. Therefore we define ourselves as a hardcore PvE guild, but are not forcing players to be online more than 3 days per week. If players do join our raids, we expect them to be fully prepared: potions, food, best talents you can get, fully enchanted and gemmed up.

Rights
As a member you are entitled to the full benefits of the guild. This includes, but is not limited to: participation in guild events, the use of our message boards and website, the use of guildchat in-game, the use of our Ventrilo server for you and your friends for WoW and other activities, and the use of our DKP website.

You have the right to speak freely about your concerns and ideas on the forums, on ventrilo (some restrictions apply here, see below) and in-game.

You have the right to information from the officers/assists and guild leader. They are obliged to answer all of your questions truthfully.

You have the right to request assistance from guild mates in your adventures. You are at the same time strongly encouraged to help your guild mates when needed, but not required to be at everyone's beck and call.

You are entitled to be treated fairly, equally and with respect at all times. You are bound to treat others in the guild in the same manner.

You have the right to request a change in guild policy, rules or anything else related to the guild. To do so, you need to post a poll on the private forum. If at least 30% of the members votes, and 70% or more is in favor, the requested change is accepted. The poll closes in 5 days.

Behavior
As a member of Nightwatchers you will be kind and courteous to all players in the game. You will not kill steal, intentionally train, spam, insult, flame or bad mouth players, GMs or chat channels, or do anything that reflects negatively upon the reputation of the guild or its members.

Discrimination or slander based on race, gender, religion, sexual preference or anything that is not accepted in real life, will not be tolerated. Punishment will be swift and severe.

You will not harass, beg or complain to get people for your group, about being power leveled, teleported, resurrected, given loot, get enchants or items crafted. These things are not your rights, but your privileges. If a member or the guild decides to help you in this way, that is that member's decision. You cannot demand it from your guild mates.

Guild chat may at times get rude and you are asked to have a thick skin and not to take offense at things that are meant as a joke. However, cruel comments and sexual harassment to another player will not be tolerated. This will be punishable by either a warning or removal from the guild.

If you have any issues with other members of the guild, or other players, you will discuss those problems with the other person first. Do not bring issues to the officers unless you absolutely require mediation. We are all adults here and it is the belief of this guild that we can handle our own disagreements.

If an issue arises that cannot be resolved, you will act in a dignified manner and allow the leadership of the guild to hand out any reprimands if required.

Most importantly the guild is designed to enhance the enjoyment of the game for you and everyone that plays it. Do not cause undue stress or be disruptive within the guild for your own pleasure. Do not ruin the playtime of others.

Ranks

  • Queen of Spades and Queen of Hearts (guild masters)
  • Ace of Spades (officers)
  • Knight (normal members)
  • Squire (trials)
  • Alts (see basement slaves)
  • Basement Slave (friends and inactives)

Leadership
The guild has a Guild Master, currently Arani.. He has complete authority, but is required to listen to every officer before making important decisions. The officers have the role of advisor to the guild master, and to help out in daily tasks. The officers can relieve the guild master of command, if all officers agree to this.

The tasks of the guild master and officers include (but is not limited to):

  • Recruitment
  • Organizing PvE and PvP raids
  • Leading 10 man and 25 man PvE raids
  • Distributing loot
  • Managing DKP
  • Moderating the forum and ventrilo
  • Communication between members and guild masters
  • Mediation in case of a dispute between members

Knights
Knights (normal members) have priority for a spot in 25 man raids over squires and peons, unless certain classes or types of players are needed to improve the raid setup. They also have priority for loot in 25 man raids over squires and peons, but are advised to consider potential gear upgrades for lower ranked players, especially when the item concerned is for an offspec.

Knights are required to attend at least 3 raids per week on average. If they are unable to do so for a short period of time, they need to notify the leadership in some form (the "away for a while" thread on the private forum is a good way). If they are unable or unwilling to attend 3 raids per week for a long period, they will risk getting demoted to peon.

Squires
Squires (trials) have priority for a spot in 25 man raids over peons, unless certain classes or specs are needed in the raid. They also have loot priority over peons. They have to adhere to the same attendance rules as Knights. If they do not attend 3 raids per week, they will be removed from the guild, unless special circumstances apply.

Basement slave
The Basement slave rank is reserved for friends and inactive players. Not every knight and squire is entitled to slave rank if they wish to drop below 3 raids per week attendance. The decision of who gets slave rank is left to the leadership. Alts generally follow the same rules as peons.

Recruitment
Applicants have to be at least level 80, be outfitted to match the guild's needs (including, but not limited to, class, equipment, talents), and be able to attend at least 3 raids per week. The minimum age is 18. Recruitment is currently the responsibility of the guild leadership, although members are asked to recommend strong players.

A trial is added to the guild and given the rank of squire. After approximately 1 week a topic will be created on the forum where the squire's positive and negative aspects can be discussed. After at least 4 weeks the squire will be either promoted to knight or removed from the guild. The guild masters ultimately decide, but they are required to listen to the officers and any knight of the same class before deciding.

Raiding
You are not allowed to join non-guild raids to the current top-end 25man instance. An exception is made for alts, and for knights after we have cleared the instance.

Our usual raid schedule is as follows: Sunday - Thursday 19:30pm - 24:00pm. This depends on the amount of raid content available. Ingame raids are open for invites at around 19:00. The GMOTD will reflect this and specify the name of an officer that is currently the raid leader. Whisper 'inv' to this officer to get an invite into the raid.

You are expected to join at least 3 raids every week. If you are unable to join the raid for a longer period, please notify the leadership beforehand. If you do not, you risk getting demoted to peon, or removed from the guild.

To improve raid efficiency, the leadership may remove and invite guild members of any rank to the raid at any time.

Loot rules
These loot rules are applied only when the raid leaders decides to use them. Players are free to use the official guild rules, including DKP. In case DKP is used without an officer in the raid, no DKP is gained, but it may be spent. The raid or party leader will then have to tell the officers who took what item for how much DKP.

For each item that drops, the raid leaders decide to allow DKP, rolling, both, or neither. If neither is allowed, the item is put into the guild bank. If both is allowed, every player will have to choose between rolling and bidding DKP. If a player rolls, he/she is not allowed to bid DKP anymore, unless another player starts bidding DKP. So whenever anyone starts to bid DKP, everyone can bid DKP again. The officers may restrict an item to certain classes or players.

In 10man raids we use need before greed. Please press the need button if you need an item for your mainspec, greed for offspec. If you want to bid DKP for an item in 10man, you can only do so if the raid leaders allow it, which is generally the case if an officer is present in the raid.

Every knight is allowed to roll on patterns (use the need button). Resources such as orbs, herbs, hearts of darkness, go to the guild bank by default.

The DKP rules can be found in a separate document.

Loot priority
Every player in the guild has a main spec and an offspec. There are two types of offspec: raiding and funfun spec. The raiding offspec has priority over the funfun spec, and over squires. The officers decide who has a raiding offspec. The loot priority is used only if the raid leaders decides to use it. For 25man raids we always use it, unless we specifically state otherwise during the raid.

We ask our members politely to use common sense when rolling or bidding DKP on items, and to consider the upgrade an item provides to other players. Please keep the guild as a whole in mind, and try to distribute loot evenly.

The loot priority list looks like this:

  • Knights mainspec
  • Knights raiding offspec
  • Squire mainspec
  • Alts
  • Knights funfun offspec
  • Squire offspec
  • Basement Slaves
  • Non-guild members

The following members have a raiding offspec. Mainspec listed first, raiding offspec second. These members have to fully enchant and gem their offspec gear, or they risk losing their status as raiding offspec.

  • Delacruz - Tank / DPS
  • Kherberos - Tank / DPS
  • Arani - Tank / Healing
  • Endralich - DPS / Tank
  • Inzan - DPS / Tank
  • Amatyst - DPS / Tank
  • Pfl - DPS / Healing
[*]Reyna - Healing / DPS
