DKP rulesDKP stands for Dragon Kill Points. It was created by the Afterlife guild years ago for distributing loot in Everquest.
Earning pointsYou will earn points between 19:30 and 24:00 on raid days (sunday - thursday) for being in the raid, or on the dkpon list. The dkpon list is for players out of the raid when the raid is full.
To get on the dkpon list, whisper "dkpon note" (without the quotes) to the current DKP officer. The name of the current DKP officer is usually in the GMOTD. The note should be a message that tells us where/how we can contact you in case we desire your presence in the raid.
During the raid you may get points per hour, or when the raid kills a boss. The raid leader may hand out bonus DKP, or give DKP penalties. The amount of points you will get are currently as follows:
- Instances/bosses on farm: 1 DKP per hour
- Practice on instances/bosses: 4 DKP per hour
- Bonus: 5 DKP
- Penalty for being on dkpon but cannot contact you: Removal of earned DKP that day
- Penalty for reoccuring failure to contact you : Increasing penalty
We use a 2-pool system. Our DKP is split between :
- Armor ( head/shoulders/wrist etc. Basically all the 8 pieces that make up the tier 2 armorset for example)
- Accessory (all other 8 slots of equipment. necks/rings/trinkets/weapons etc)
You earn DKP for both pools at the same time.
AuctionsWhen an item drops, an open auction wil be held where everyone (including squires and peons) can bid using their earned points.
The starting bid is set at :
- 10 DKP (normalmode items)
- 20 DKP (heroic items)
The officers may restrict an item to 1 or more classes, specs or players. This will be announced before the auction starts. The officers may give an item to a specific player if this benefits the guild greatly. The highest bidder of the highest loot priority rank receives the item. If no one wants an item, the officers will decide what happens to it. They may give it to squires for a small amount of DKP, disenchant or sell it.
You are allowed to raise the bid even if you have no intention of actualy obtaining the item. In fact, you are encouraged to actively participate in every auction for every item that is useful to you, even if you are trying to save your dkp for other, more important items.
After obtaining an item through an auction you need to enchant and gem it up as soon as possible, preferably within a few days, and you must use the item for either your main or offspec.
Priority list for loot:
- Knights mainspec
- Knights raiding offspec
- Squire mainspec
- Alts
- Knights funfun offspec
- Squire offspec
- Basement Slaves
- Non-guild members
Lootcouncil on offspec items- Some people have, what we call raiding offspecs. Their offspecs are used in our raids and therefor have priority over people biding for a spec they never use or will use in our raids.
(refer to the "Guild Rules" section for a list of official offspec members) - Offspec items are being rolled for by those raiders called out by the dkp officer.
- After all raiding offspecs have passed on an item, "lolspecs" may roll on it.
RestrictionsYou are not allowed to:
- Bid on an item you cannot use
- Bid on an item you will never use
- Bid on an item that is completely unsuitable for your class or spec
- Bid for friends
- Bid more than you have
- Cancel a bid
- Transfer items you won to another player and get your DKP reinstated. (Or make them pay for it)
- Sell an item you won
- Pass an auction so others can get the item very cheap
- Exploit or disrupt or upset the system
